Got Link Rot?

“Link rot” may not be a term you hear every day, but you need to be familiar with it if you are maintaining a blog or a web page.
Over time, link URL’s can change, or the content of the page may change into something that is not pertinent, or even worse, inappropriate.
For this reason, and to keep your credibility quotient high, you need to check the links on your blog or web page fairly often and make certain that they work and are taking your readers to the sites you intend. Somwhere on your blog or page, you might even want to ask your readers to notify you if a link isn’t working.
The best rule of thumb seems to be this: if you don’t want to maintain a link, don’t put it on your page! For example:
